A New Bible Study
Led by Shelly Curren
Romans – Good News That Changes Everything  by Melissa Spoelstra
Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.  (Online)
October 14, 2020 – November 25, 2020

Bad news surrounds us. It comes through our phone, computer and television screens.  We encounter it in doctors’ offices, the workplace, and our own homes. If we’re not careful, we can drift toward cynicism, fear, or despair. As followers of Jesus, we must not lose sight of the fact that God has given us good news.  We call it the gospel; it reminds us that God loves us and longs to redeem our suffering. The gospel truths shared with the early church of Rome echo into our day, reminding us that we still have good news to embrace personally and to share with others.

In this seven-week study of Romans, we will take a posture of listening and learning as we approach this powerful book, packed with good news. Specifically, we’ll be highlighting significant concepts regarding the good news about faith, hope, daily life, God’s plan, relationships, and eternity. Whatever bad news we may be facing, in Romans we’ll find good news that will encourage, inspire, and transform us, bringing about a spiritual renewal that will spread to those around us.

This class will be a group online study, using the Webex application. This works on computers, tablets, and smart phones. The leader has an account, so up to 40 people can join in the study free of charge. If the study sounds interesting to you, please do not let this deter you from joining the group. It is easy to set up an account and each week you will receive an e-mail invitation to join the meeting. You only need to click on the link and it will take you directly to the group. A test run will be set up for those new to the application prior to the start of the study so that everyone is comfortable on the day it begins.

Please contact the church office to sign up or with questions.
