In every place where I cause My name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.
(Exodus 20:24b)

Most gracious God, with baptismal water You have written Your name on me and claimed me for Yourself. Make my heart a place of praise and my life a source of blessing to others. I ask this through Your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

We had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.
(1 Thessalonians 2:2b)

Spirit of God, in the midst of pandemic grant me faith’s courage to declare without fear or hesitation the gospel of Christ crucified and raised again. Accompany my testimony with Your power that it may comfort any who may be frightened by current events. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another, render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the LORD.
(Zechariah 8:16)

God of all holiness, You love righteousness and hate wickedness. By Your Word of life make me daily more like You. Grant that in faith and love I do all that You command and refrain from doing all that You forbid. This I pray in the name of Your perfectly obedient Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
(Mark 14:38)

Knowing all things, blessed Savior, You know that I am willing in spirit to follow You but weak in the flesh. Fortify my faith! Keep me watchful against every temptation and prayerful for every blessing. Help me live each day to the praise of Your name and the well-being of my neighbors. Amen.

And Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets,
encouraged and strengthened the brothers with many words.
(Acts 15:32)

I don’t know very much about Judas and Silas, Lord Jesus, but I thank You for their example of faith in action and ask that, like them, by words and deeds I also encourage and strengthen other believers, whom You have made to be my brothers and sisters. Amen.

When my spirit faints within me, You know my way!
(Psalm 142:3a)

My spirit is fainting, almighty Savior. Earthquakes, fires, floods, pandemic, social upheaval, and political paralysis, press on my heart and mind. Refresh me, I beg You. Remind me that You are not unaware of the day’s headlines but that You present and active, reigning over them in might and mercy. Amen.

And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”
(Matthew 20:30)

Help me, Lord Jesus. When I am blind to Your works and deaf to Your words, look on me in pity. Touch my soul to receive by faith the blessings Your delight to bestow. Then, use me in compassionate service to others that they also may rejoice in Your mercy. I pray this in Your name. Amen.
