DISASTER RELIEF
This Sunday, September 5, 2021, there will be an additional offering basket in the lobby to receive special offerings for Hurricane Ida relief. Please make checks payable to Faith Lutheran Church and write “Disaster relief” in the memo line. On-line gifts may also be designated for Hurricane Relief. We will work through the Texas District, LCMS, to distribute funds to individuals and families that have been displaced and suffered injury and loss due to the recent storm. Prayer Quilts

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the USA on 9/11/01, Faith Lutheran Church will present red, white, and blue prayer quilts to various local officials, recognizing their responsibilities for the safety and welfare of our community.  Four of these officials serve in positions of authority in Georgetown, four others in Williamson County.

The Georgetown officials are:

  • Josh Schroeder, Mayor
  • Wayne Nero, Chief of the Georgetown Police Department
  • John Sullivan, Chief of the Georgetown Fire Department
  • Eric Johnson, Director of Public Works

The Williamson County officials are:

  • Mike Gleason, Williamson County Sheriff
  • Mike Knipstein, Director of Williamson County Emergency Medical Services
  • Michael Shoe, Director of Williamson County Emergency Management
  • Hank Jones, Williamson County Fire Marshal

We give thanks to God for all public servants and ask Him to bless their labors.  “Good government” is included in the “daily bread” we ask God to provide when we pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

Please take a moment before or after worship to tie knots in these quilts and lift these officials before God in prayer.  The quilts, which were crafted by members of Faith, will remain in the church lobby until Sunday, September 5.

Compass Groups

Would you like to join a small group for fellowship and Bible study?  Our small groups are called “Compass Groups.”  If you are interested in joining a Compass Group, please fill out the form HERE.

Faith’s Braille Team

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Faith’s Braille Team is in need of volunteers. Our team prints 20 copies of I and II Corinthians in Swahili to send to East Africa Countries. Contact Paul or Lois Howe to join the Missionary Outreach.

NOTE NEW TIME:  The team meets the 2nd Monday of each month at Zion Lutheran Church.  Our meeting time has changed to 12:00-2:00.  We were asked to meet earlier so we do not leave the same time as parents are arriving to pick up children from the school.
