We will enhance our human care engagement through developing practical and accessible methods of human care—even daily opportunities to bless those around us with our time, talents, and treasures.

We will also promote engagement in human care through storytelling, casting a vision for how human care can impact our community.  We hope to do this storytelling (both how we have received human care and how we’re demonstrated human care to our neighbors) through regular video offerings. We plan to challenge every worship attender at Faith to get involved in some sort of human care activity.

Additionally, our worship experience will also reflect the mission of the quarter. We will create consistent advocacy for the Strategic Partners in our worship service and through human care dedication rites at the beginning of each quarter along with the prayers.

New Human Care Initiatives

Seasonal Visitations – Advent and Easter – This Advent season, we conducted visits to FLC members who are homebound, going through other life challenges, grief, illness, etc. Pastoral staff and Director of Human Care named over 60 recipients. We heard stories of great joy and look forward to offering this again in the Easter season.

Women’s Storybook Project of Texas – Helps incarcerated women maintain contact with and bring comfort to their children. We help these mothers record stories and messages of love for their children and then mail the recordings with the books so the children can hear their mother’s voice and know that she is thinking of them. WSP aims at the 80% of women who are incarcerated and are mothers.

Dedication rite at the beginning of each quarter: bringing in a representative from each ministry expert to be highlighted in front of the entire congregation. (Think Bags to Mats dedication we just did on Sunday).

Prayers of the Church: The prayers during both worship services will reflect the mission of the quarter. We will create consistent advocacy for the Strategic Partners in our worship service and through human care invitations.

Sharing Stories of Human Care - We’d love to hear how our Faith Family is living out our mission statement through the art of storytelling. In the sanctuary, we will have a station set-up where you can write a brief example of how you have cared for your neighbor.

This helps us measure how human care is being done within our church and within our community. We can be encouraged and inspired by the stories of HC that are happening.

Care and Support Resources - Online documentation on Faith Lutheran’s web page where we church members or community members at large can fill out our care form below to receive care or to learn more about serving in our care ministries.
