Pat and Tammy (Saleska) Ferry met on the campus of St. John’s College, an LCMS institution in Winfield, Kansas, in the late 70’s. Much of their life together has been connected to Lutheran higher education. Pat retired from Concordia University Wisconsin and Ann Arbor in 2021 following three decades of service including twenty-four years as president. Tammy will retire from CUWAA in June from her role as Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness after twenty-three years at Concordia.

 

In addition to the St. John’s College experience, Tammy is an alumna of Concordia Portland. She also earned her M.S. from St. Cloud State University, and her Ph.D. in Urban Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Pat graduated with an M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Colorado. He received the honorary D.Div from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 2022.

 

During her time at Concordia Tammy was the recipient of the “American Association for Colleges of Pharmacy Award for Excellence in Assessment” in 2015. She was also named the “Outstanding Graduate Faculty Member” in 1998. Pat was honored with the Association of Lutheran Secondary School’s “Christine Moritz Christian Leadership Award,” in 2022. He was also the recipient of Milwaukee’s Biz Times with the “Health Care Heroes Award” for Advancements in Health Care in 2009.

 

In their nearly thirty-eight years of marriage, God has blessed Pat and Tammy with five wonderful children—Peter, Hannah (Meineke), Andrew, Rachel (Thoms), and Stephen. They also enjoy the blessing of five beautiful grandchildren with their sixth due in June.
