Proclaim liberty throughout the land
to all its inhabitants.
(Leviticus 25:10)

Almighty Father, to proclaim to all people freedom from bondage to sin and death through the saving work of Jesus, Your Son, remains the mission of the Church in every age and place. For this nation, in which Christians may openly practice their faith and share it with others, I bless You; and in Jesus’ name, I pray Your protection for Christians who live under regimes that suppress religious liberty and the message of Christ crucified and raised again. Amen.

“Heaven and earth will pass away,
but My words will not pass away.”
(Matthew 24:35)

Teach me, Lord Jesus, to appreciate the differences between what abides through time alone and what abides even beyond time into eternity. Grant me the grace to receive with thanksgiving and steward well all time-bound blessings while valuing and rejoicing even more highly in the eternal blessings conveyed in Your words. Amen.

I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians,
both to the wise and to the foolish.
(Romans 1:14)

Lord Jesus, since by grace You have chosen even me to share in Your Church’s commission to make disciples of all nations, excluding none, free me from all bigotry, so that I freely and winsomely bear witness to You to everyone, regardless of origin, appearance, reputation, or station in life. Amen.

And [Jesus] said to them,
“Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket,
or under a bed, and not on a stand?”
(Mark 4:21)

Neither Your gospel, Your forgiveness, Your love, Your peace, Your Church, nor any gift of Yours, Lord Jesus, is given to be hidden away in secret places, but all are given as blessings for the world. Forgive my failures to live my faith openly in witness to You and make me each day bolder in discipleship. Amen.

Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Ahasuerus,
and he was great among the Jews
and popular with the multitude of his brothers,
for he sought the welfare of his people
and spoke peace to all his people.
(Esther 10:3)

Lord Jesus, Savior of all nations, in every generation raise up perceptive and courageous rulers who actively seek the welfare of the whole people entrusted to their care and govern with integrity to secure those peaceful conditions under which families and communities thrive and grow. Amen.

Good works are conspicuous,
and even those that are not cannot remain hidden.
(1 Timothy 5:25)

The full record of the good deeds You accomplish through the lives of Your saints will be known in eternity, God of all grace, so I ask You to help me live now in such ways that my faith in Your Son Jesus is obvious to others and attracts them to Him. Amen.

And the word of God continued to increase,
and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem,
and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.
(Acts 6:7)

Spirit of God, everywhere multiply the number of Jesus’ disciples. By the good news of His death and resurrection reach into hearts where Jesus’ name is not loved, and work Your miracle of conversion. Enlist me in mission service as You will, and bring from faithful labors great growth. Amen.
