For if while we were enemies
we were reconciled to God
by the death of His Son,
much more,
now that we are reconciled,
shall we be saved by His life.
(Romans 5:10)

What miracle is this, that God’s enemies have been made His friends, and this by no effort or sacrifice of their own but altogether by the work of Another on their behalf? Jesus, Jesus, this is Your doing! Salvation is gained for sinners by Your blood alone. Lead me always to Your cross. Amen.

The saints of the Most High
shall receive the kingdom
and possess the kingdom forever,
forever and ever.
(Daniel 7:18)

By Your pure grace, Lord Jesus, I am numbered among the saints. Some live already in heaven, some have yet to be born on earth, yet I live here and now. Keep me always kingdom-minded and kingdom-hearted, gladly sharing my faith that others, too, may know the eternal blessings of Your realm. Amen.

“Beware of practicing your righteousness
before other people
in order to be seen by them,
for then you will have no reward
from your Father Who is in heaven.”
(Matthew 6:1)

Spirit of holiness, purify my motives. Guard me against all hypocrisy, especially that which puts on a show of piety designed not to please God but to win public attention and admiration. All to Jesus’ glory, and for the blessing of my neighbors, make my life of Christian discipleship daily more sincere. Amen.

So I said, “The thing you are doing is not good.
Ought you not to walk in the fear of our God
to prevent the taunts of the nations our enemies?”
(Nehemiah 5:9)

In Your grace, holy Father, put into my life people who will hold me accountable to live as a Christian, calling me out when I err and encouraging me to pursue godliness and turn from every wickedness that discredits Your name and brings Your Church into disrepute. I ask this through Christ, my Lord. Amen.

Indeed, I count everything as loss
because of the surpassing worth
of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.
(Philippians 3:8)

God of abundance and provision, You have surrounded me with blessings of body and mind, convince me daily by Your Spirit that knowing Jesus is worth more than all the wealth of the world and spare me from the idolatry that values anything more than the gospel of His death and resurrection. Amen.

“And I tell you,
ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.”
(Luke 11:9)

Lord Jesus, You speak holy truth. Nothing You say is false or misleading. So, as you have promised to answer prayer, forgive me for “knocking” too timidly on the door of God’s heart which You opened to me by Your cross, and teach me boldness in asking for His help and seeking His wisdom. Amen.

God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.

(Psalm 47:8)

In the certainty that You rule over all things, relieve me from fear, almighty and ever gracious God. Current events are fully known to You. None of the dangers that worry me are secret from You. Remind me that nothing can overthrow the kingdom You have secured for Your people through the blood of Jesus, Your Son, in Whose name I pray. Amen.
